4th of July

We went up to my parents for the 4th this year. Eric, Christy and the girls came over also! We went to Cornerstone Chapel's Celebration on the 3rd. They had some bounce toys for the kids to play in and face painting. Plus, sno-cones and some other goodies. It was so nice to see some friends we had not seen in awhile. We were able to watch the Medina Fireworks at the church too. They were pretty good I must say! Every time we thought it was the finale, they started back up again! The kids enjoyed them, well, Georgia fell asleep, but the other two enjoyed them. It always feels so comfortable being back at the church I grew up in, I miss it!
On the 4th, we hung out at my parents. My dad grilled some yummy steaks and chicken and my mom added the sides. It was so good! We had fun watching the kids play together. It is seriously going to be crazy when they get a little older! We made a visit to DQ to enjoy some ice cream and then watched the parade before we headed back home.

We made it back in time to catch the Marion Fireworks with Scott, Amber and Macie. The kids got to play with some Sparklers, Poppers, and Snakes(Brady was obsessed with those things-don't ask me why! haha). The girls are so goofy, they totally feed off each other! We were happy to spend some time with them.

Happy to live in a free nation! God Bless America!

Thanksgiving activities

Another busy holiday season has started! We enjoyed Thanksgiving this year with my family, it was a nice quiet day of relaxing. Unfortunately my brother and his family couldn't be there this year, but they were connecting with our family in IL and Chirsty's in MO. We look forward to seeing them around Christmas. The kids enjoyed the meal and playing. Tanner, my parents dog, enjoyed all the excitement and playing with his pal Daisy. :)

We did a little Christmas shopping on Friday but not much. Guh!
We of course worked on the house a lot. We're getting there!! We have our last inspection this Thursday, once that is over than we will be able to relax a little more. Although there is always stuff to do it won't be as pressured like it was. It's looking good, I must say. We are excited for you that haven't seen it yet to stop in for a gander. I'm still working on the decor part, but day by day it feels more like home.

To round out our Thanksgiving, Saturday Ron & Ginny invited us to participate in the Mt Vernon Christmas parade to help advertise their Christmas tree farm. The kids had a ball. It was really cold but once we got moving it wasn't bad. To our surprise we won a trophy! Best Christmas Theme!! That was kind of cool! I posted a picture below:

We hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Our fun-filled weekend!

Wow! What a whirlwind weekend!

Saturday we went to the Ohio Scottish Games in Wellington. Ron and Ginny had invited us to go, the whole family was there including Kirk's Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bruce. We had a great time. The day went by fast, there was so much to see and do! It was neat to hear and see more about Scottish history. The bagpipes were amazing, the sound of the huge combined bagpipes in the opening ceremony gave me goosebumps! It was great. Brady had a fun time, he was able to participate in the Border Collie demonstration and also play a kid Scottish game. Both Brady and Bethany enjoyed petting the animals(we washed their hands real well after!). Cara thought we should buy one of the cows that were for sale buuuut we decided to pass this time. Hey Cara, maybe we'll buy it for you for your birthday, seeing we know how much you LOOOOOVE animals! ;) I had one of the best corn dogs I had in a long time too. It was so good. And you are thinking, are corn dogs a Scottish food? Well, probably not a traditional food, but it was darn good so it was Scottish to me on Saturday! I've attached some pictures of the day below.

On Sunday, we woke up really early and went to Pittsburgh to see Eric, Christy and Abigail, and most importantly to see Abigail get dedicated. She did such a good job, she was wide-eyed taking it all in. Instead of the pastor speaking this Sunday, Eric and Chirsty's church had The India Children's Choir perform. It was so good! I liked it because they actually did a musical where they told of their tribe's history and how they became a Christian tribe. The kids were as sweet as they could be! One little girl just loved Bethany! She told my mom that she had a little sister back home that was Bethany's age and she missed her so much. They travel 11 months out of the year! It was sweet and a real blessing.
After church we went out to eat to a yummy Italian restaurant, then we went back to thier house and visited a little with Eric, Christy and Abigail for a little bit longer before we had to head back home. It was so nice to see them, we hadn't seen them in a couple of months. Abigail has grown so much and she's starting to sit up! She's precious! :)
