Fighting the tears

Well, today I took Brady to kindergarten registration. I have been dreading this day for the past month. I can't believe it is already that time for Brady to go to "big" school. Him starting preschool was emotional for me, not only was he starting school but I was on bedrest when I was pregnant with Bethany so I missed a lot of the new stuff. Now here is kindergarten. Now he's in school all the time, until he graduates HS. We get summers but they're just summers that fly by. This is it, I have a big boy whose trotting off to school. After I dropped Bethany off at Amber's, I was driving to pick Brady up from preschool, just thinking about where the time went. I didn't cry though. Once we got to school and we were walking in I was nervous and he was not at all, I took his confidence and went in feeling good. I didn't cry. It was a very smooth process, of course the parents had to wait while our little ones went off by themselves and were tested. I turned to watch him a few times, he was always laughing and talking in response to the teachers. It made me proud that boy was mine! He did very well on his tests! So phase 1 down of this new adventure for us, I survived it! Wonder what's going to happen with phase 2? Actually letting him go on that first day of school. It will probably be a bit more traumatic for mom then Brady.

We came home, Bethy napped, Brady went to play, and Mommy cried.

Take me out to the ballgame

Saturday we took the kids to a Columbus Clippers game. Kirk had gotten free tickets from work, it was State Employee Day at Cooper Stadium. It was a little chilly but not too bad. It was really crowded, we got there about an hour early and we did get pretty decent seats. The "tipsy" lady in front of us let Brady use one of her Clipper Bells so he had a blast ringing that thing. Bethany wasn't into very much, she was a bit of a crab! ;) We got some cotton candy, figuring something new & something sweet for her would be a mood booster. Well, no it wasn't. She wanted nothing to do with it and you'll see in the pics below having something stringy and sticky on her hands was NOT cool. hahaha Brady wanted some peanuts because that is what P-pa had gotten him at the Indians game, so we got them. He was doing good breaking them open and then he just looked at me and said "Mommy this takes too long" he then popped a whole one, shell and all in his mouth and started munching away. Before I could get him to stop it was gone into the depths of his belly. We put away the peanuts after that. So after the whole peanut in the belly, sticky cotton candy, salt all over my shirt from a pretzel and spills of one & a half $4 Pepsi's we decided to call it a night after the 3rd inning. The Clippers were playing good, but the kiddos were tired and Mommy & Daddy had enough for that night. Once we got to the car everyone relaxed, we decided to drive downtown and then drive along High St and look at what was new. The kids enjoyed it and Kirk & I reminisced about when we were first dating and going on our first date and how we would come and hang out there. It was a nice family outing and although it gets haired at times, we love the memories that we are making with the kids.

Sunday, we mowed and mowed! It was nice getting out there again though. Bethy loves to mow! She waves & yells hi to Daisy, Simon, every bird & I think to the flying grass too! :)

The Surprise

On Monday, my mom brought a surprise to show us. A new edition has come to live with my parents, his name is Tanner.

He's very laid back and has a sweet personality. The kids had a lot of fun with him, I think they scared him a bit though. :) Daisy and Tanner hit it off well, they had fun running around the yard. It was such a beautiful day! My mom had bought the kids some huge bubbles that they had fun swirling around and chasing. I have to say mommy had fun with the bubbles too! ;)

Weekend

This weather has got to stop! It is way too cold and way too windy! Last night we had a ground cover of snow! Snow was ok and pretty back when it was WINTER, not now, not when it is SPRING!!! Grrrr!

On a positive note Kirk and I were able to have a date night last night. It was so needed and was nice just to have some adult time with him. We went and saw a movie, Blades of Glory, which was a typical Will Ferrell movie. You gotta love Will Ferrell, he's glorious!(if you watch his movies you will know where that's from :)) We also went to eat at Red Robin. It was the first time Kirk and I had been there it came HIGHLY recommended by my brother. It was very good, fun atmoshpere too.

Today, Brady had preschool day at Epworth UMC. They sang a few songs which of course were hilarious! They had an art show display of the different classes works, it was fun to see what he has created so far this year! I took some pictures of Brady singing but half of them he kept turning his back to us and talking go figure! Kirk had to work the rest of the day so the kids and I just chilled out at home.

Fingers-crossed I hear the weather is supposed to be spring-like by the end of the week! :)

Easter Weekend

We had a really nice Easter weekend. Friday we went to Good Friday service at church which was wonderful! I really like our new pastor, he's great! After that we came home and dyed some Easter eggs with the kids which was a lot of fun. They both did such a great job!!

We had a very nice church service on Sunday. The kids looked so good in their Easter outfits. Brady was so grown up, and Bethy looked like a little bell! :) We had an easy rest of the day, and just lounged around. It was so nice. The Easter Bunny brought Brady and Bethany the movie Happy Feet, so we sat and watched that, well, Bethany was pretty much on the go. Sitting still is not really apart of her right now! :) They each enjoyed some of their Easter chocolate from Easter Bunny too.

Warmth!

It was so beautiful today!! Macie came over for a bit this afternoon. The girls had fun playing with each other. It was quite a bit windy so they got blown around quite a bit, which was pretty funny for me. :) Some pictures are below:

The weekend!!

On Friday night, we went to Ashland to see Nate, Jen & Sofie. We hadn't seen them in so long. It was nice to catch up a little. Sofie and the kids had a ton of fun! Run, run, run!! We are excited to meet the new Myers coming in late April! :) By the way, Nate & Jen, Kirk says that his name needs to be a part of the baby's name in some way! ;)

Yesterday, we were able to spend some time with my mom, Eric, Christy and Abigail. This was the first time that Brady & Bethany had met Abigail. I think they were beginning to think she wasn't real. :) It was so much fun seeing them all together. Abigail is so cute. We loved watching her smile and her big blue eyes just take everything in!! It was so nice to get caught up with Eric & Christy. They are doing such a great job of being parents!! The rain did stop mid-day and the sun came out so my mom and the kids were able to go out and play in the driveway a bit and take Daisy for a walk. We missed P-pa, and are looking fwd to seeing him soon!!
Here are some pictures:

Today was beautiful! Rain, Rain stay away! I want a whole week like this! The kids had fun playing outside today, the yard is starting to dry up a little. They rode their bikes and helped daddy do some yard work.

Hope everyone has a great week! Spring is here!!!!
Love.

Bethany sported her first pigtails today! Her hair is finally long enough in the back. We think she looks sweet as pie! :) She loves them, she's such a girly girl already!

In like a Lion...

So March definately came in like a lion(and Bethany would say, "Raaaar!")! As stated in my last post we had a rough start with Bethany, well the 2nd week of March didn't get better it got worse! Brady ended up getting sick, VERY sick, a lot worse than Bethany. He missed preschool all of last week. To make things worse, ol' mama got sick too starting Tuesday afternoon. I seriously do not know how I was able to watch the kids Tuesday and Wednesday. Super Mommy Mode kicked in and I did it! I just slept everytime the kids took a nap. Kirk was able to come home early both nights so that helped a lot!! I think the flu shot helped too, because I never got extremely puky sick, I'm happy I got it(the shot). By Thursday I was better, just a little weak. Brady was getting better too. Friday we could see a BIG improvement. I started to thoroughly disinfect the house. I finished Saturday-Whew!
The weekend was good. We needed it!!! Brady had his last basketball game and did well. It's so hard being the only lefty on the team, his right just doesn't work the same! ;) We were able to get some things done at home that we had been waiting for nice weather to do. Brady and Kirk were able to work and play outside some. Mommy & Bethany were able to get some good nappin' in! Sunday we went to church, Bethany always has the ladies in the nursery in a tickle. She dances like crazy, and knows were the music comes out of the speaker. They say she always points at it when it stops(it's hooked up so you can hear the church service). Next Sunday our new pastor will finally be here. I'm excited to see what he has to bring to the church.
Sunday afternoon, we went for a drive and then went to the park so the kids could play and enjoy the weather. We had a lot of fun, there are some pictures below.
Overall just a teriffic weekend, hopefully our March lamb is coming into the picture so we can totally be rid of the yucky lion!
Love.

A new month...

It's now March, I can't believe it. We are already 3mths into the new year. It was wonderful to wake up to the sound of a thunderstorm this morning. I miss hearing that sound. It was so hard to get out of bed, all I wanted to do was snuggle with the kids and just listen and rest in the sound. But it's a Thursday and life must start!

It's been a rough couple of weeks Bethany has been sick with a cold and it's just no fun when you have a sick child. We thought she was on the up and up Monday, she was a spitfire full of energy, then Tuesday we were back down by dinner. This time I think she caught a stomach bug. :( She really hasn't ate anything substanial since Tuesday afternoon. Girl can not live on oyster crackers alone! :) This morning she did eat some cherrios so we will see how today goes. This little girl can't catch a break this year. We can not wait until warmer weather comes!!!

Earlier this week we were getting ready to leave and the kids were waiting on me and looking out the window. Brady announces "there's a wolf outside mommy!" "A wolf?" I said "are you sure?" I go and look out the window and it wasn't a wolf but it was a fox! It's the 2nd time I've seen it this winter, but the first time for Brady. The first time I saw it he/she was out in the barnyard. We have never seen a fox around here before it's pretty neat.

Well, I must be off Brady has preschool and we need to leave soon. I'm excited to see what the month has in store for us-only time will tell! :)
Love.
